Poet/musician/film maker Jan McLaughlin studied film at New York University SCE, and Philosophy, Comparative Literature, and dance at the University of Pittsburgh. Since 1986, she has produced, directed and/or written nine award-winning poetry films. Publications include one book of poems ("These Poems Are Not Pretty," Palmetto Press, Miami, 1992), and several chapbooks. Her poems have appeared in USA Today, So it goes..., Curare, Pinched Nerves, and Vital Pulse, among others. "Letters," her second collection of writings, this time for CD-Rom, is making the rounds to university and small presses.
